Every year as the holidays near, we begin to discuss traditions. As part of our curriculum we include children in a group discussion to choose and prepare their favorite dish for our annual friendship feast. During this discussion, the children suggest specific dishes they would enjoy making. The discussion evolves into a vote, and results in a very eclectic menu for our feast. We then share with all of our friends during lunch. Our menu for this year consisted of corn on the cob, banana bread, apple sauce, mac and cheese and cucumber avocado pesto pasta salad! This is a school wide process that will aid the children of Edgewater with the concept of collaboration and team work.
